Cong. Or Simcha will be offering in-person outdoor High Holiday Services at EJ's Place at 10027 Skokie Blvd, Skokie IL 60077.
Held under a canopy for shade, with open walls for ventilation, these will be services consisting of select pivotal prayers, the Torah reading, the sounding of the Shofar on the
2nd day of Rosh Hashanah. Attendees will also have the option of praying outside the canopy if desired.
Yom Kippur Kol Nidrei services (Sunday evening) will be held at the Wilmette Community Recreation Center with plenty of outdoor
ventilation (bring a warm jacket or coat), and Yom Kippur day - Yizkor and Neilah will be held Monday under a canopy at EJ's Place on Skokie Blvd.
The following pointers are critical with regard to these services:
We will be adhering to all Cook County (Illinois) health guidelines for maximum safety and precaution. This includes social-distancing
seating and wearing of masks.
Due to social distance seating, there are strict limits to our attendance capacity at our services.
In keeping with Or Simcha’s welcoming policy, we’ve always provided ample seating for reserved and walk-in participants alike. Unfortunately, given the circumstances this year,
all attendance must be by RESERVATION ONLY, as this is the only way we can follow the guidelines and keep each service within the 50-person limit. We sincerely apologize but we
must insist that only those with prior reservations attend.
Early reservations are
strongly encouraged. We do anticipate that all slots, of all services, will be booked, so the earlier you make your reservations, the more guaranteed you will be of attending.
