Pesach 'Or Simcha' Cocktails

Add some sparkle to your Pesach with delicious cocktail recipes, with flavors like Kiwi, lime and cactus pear or Mango passion.

Pesach cocktails

The following drinks take the place of alcoholic beverages and can be made for kids by using light or dark grape juice instead of wine in cocktails. An optimal way to present fruits in a fun, appealing way.

 

 

Kiwi, lime and cactus pear cocktail – serves 2

Ingredients:

2/3 cup sparkling sweet white wine chilled
1 kiwi diced small
1 sabra/ Prickly pear diced small (optional)
1 lime
¾ cup cold seltzer
2 teaspoons sugar + 2 teaspoons to rim glass

Directions:

1. Squeeze half a lime
2. Mix sugar, kiwi, sabra and lime juice
3. Place mixture in glass
4. Add wine and seltzer
5. Garnish with a wedge/slice of lime


Strawberry wine spritzer – serves 2

Ingredients:

2/3 cup dry/semi dry white wine chilled
6 strawberries diced + 2 strawberries for garnish
1 cup cold seltzer
3 teaspoons sugar + 2 teaspoons to rim glass
½ a lime

Directions:
1. Cover diced strawberries with sugar and refrigerate in closed container for a few hours or overnight
2. Strain strawberry juice from mixture and pour into a cocktail glass
3. Add wine and seltzer
4. Garnish with a strawberry placed on edge of glass or a few slices dropped in


Mango passion cocktail – serves 2

Ingredients:

1 cup chilled champagne
2 passion fruit
½ cup cubed mangos
2/3 cup cold seltzer
1 teaspoon sugar

Directions:

1. Mix passion fruit, mango and sugar
2. Pour mixture into glass
3. Add seltzer and champagne

TIP TO RIM GLASSES WITH SUGAR: DIP RIM OF GLASS INTO LEMON JUICE OR WATER. SPRINKLE SOME SUGAR ON A SHALLOW PLATE AND DIP WET RIMMED GLASS INTO SUGAR. SPIN GLASS IN A CIRCULAR MOTION. THIS SHOULD MAKE THE SUGAR STICK AND ADDS BOTH TASTE AND AN EXTRA DECORATIVE TOUCH.
